We are looking for leaders to join our team and help us deliver a safe, fun and exciting first summer at the newly developed Wangaratta Sports & Aquatic Centre. As part of the Duty Manager team you will have access to ongoing professional development, and you will bring with you the skills and behaviours to successfully manage a large on shift team.

You will be an experienced leisure professional, able to fulfil the roles of lifeguard and customer experience officer with ease, mentor and coach the team on shift, and well versed in incident & emergency management. Your goal every time you walk into our doors is to ensure the safety & enjoyment of all staff and customers.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Sound knowledge and experience in aquatic services, including pool operations, lifeguarding, first aid, evacuation, critical incidents,and public safety requirements.
  • Highly developed communication and people skills, including the ability to handle challenging customers& conflict situations, gain the cooperation of patrons in safety requirements and relate to diverse staff and customers.
  • General knowledge of OH&S, manual handling, hazardous substances,and dangerous goods & plant room operations.
  • Ability to lead the customer service and café area while onshift, thorough knowledge of touring, bookings, processes and the demands on theseareas.
  • Well-developed knowledge of staff management, breaks, rostering, and how these relate to centre operations.

The hourly range of $28.68-$32.50 part time and $35.85-$40.62 casual applies to these roles.

We are recruiting ongoing part time and casual Duty Managers currently - please note in your application your ideal hours and role. In full operation, ideally all roles will be a minimum 8 hours per week. Applicants undertaking active Customer Experience and Lifeguarding shifts will be considered favourably.
