Benalla is just two and a quarter hours north of Melbourne (200km) on the Hume Highway. It is the gateway to north east Victoria’s High Country, Benalla Rural City’s population is just under 14,000, with 9,000 living within the urban area.

The Melbourne-Sydney rail line, the Midland Highway and the Hume Highway intersect at Benalla, providing a unique level of access for freight, vehicle and passenger movement. Benalla also boasts a regional airport on the edge of the town.

Benalla boasts beautiful cycling and walking tracks and is home to the spectacular Winton Wetlands, Winton Motor Raceway and the Gliding Club of Victoria which is hosting the World Gliding Championships in 2017.
